"Favugne" is the local version of the word "Favonio", a warm wind that comes from the west, bringing in the spring the growth of many fruits and favoring as well the maturation of grapes.
This word gives its name to "Favugne" of San Severo D.O.C. San Severo.
Its color is a blond hue, similar to that of yellow straw, fruity, with an intense bouquet, a well balanced and delicate flavor, with a light flowery scent and an after taste of a fairly good duration; it is the perfect companion of antipasti and main courses of fish, soups and greens. It is also very good as a before dinner drink.
