The “Fracchie” are great torchs of various dimensions (they have also a 5-6 meters (18-19 feet) length). they are constructed with a longitudinally cracked trunk and they are filled up with coppers, dry twigs, chip of wood and branches of tree. After that they constitute a bonfire of conical shape with a leaning trunk to the extremity.

The “Fracchia” is carried on proper carriages. All the parts are held with from two great iron circles, and they are wet withinflammable substances. The “Fracchia” is ignited from the wider part and, in order to avoid that it falls ahead or slides from the carriage, it is weighted down with sandbags on the posterior part. On it there is a pole, carrying on the top an image of the Given pain Madonna.
